BigScreen Date is a dating site built around one idea: the movies make the perfect first date. We match you with singles near you who want to see the same films, like the same food, and are looking for the same kind of connection.

Yes. Creating an account, building your profile and searching for dates are all free.

Anyone 18 or older with a valid email address. Every account verifies its email before it can search for or be shown to other members.

We currently support members across the United States, using your 5-digit ZIP code to place you on the map.

Two members only match when each wants to meet the other's gender and each falls inside the other's age range. Matches are then ranked by a compatibility score built from your favorite movie genres, the cuisines you enjoy, your relationship goal, and your showtime, seating, popcorn and after-movie preferences.

Every profile question has a fixed set of clearly different answers — for example, "Evening (5pm – 9pm)" instead of a vague "evenings". That way a match on a preference really means you agree, rather than two people describing the same thing in different words.

You choose how far you're willing to travel: 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 miles. The radius works both ways — you only see someone when they are inside your radius and you are inside theirs, so nobody is matched with someone who wouldn't make the trip.

Yes. On the Find a date page, choose "Use my current location" and your browser will ask permission to share your position. We use it only to find the nearest ZIP code for that search — it is never stored or shown to anyone.

Your first name, age, city, approximate distance, photo, bio and your movie and food preferences. Your last name, email, phone number and exact location are never shown.

Yes. Untick "Show me in date searches" on your dating profile and you will disappear from everyone's results until you switch it back on.

Meet at the theater rather than being picked up, tell a friend where you're going, keep your phone charged and arrange your own ride home. If anything feels wrong, leave and let theater staff know.

Open their profile or your conversation with them and choose "Report". Pick what happened, add any details, and we'll attach your conversation so our team can review it. Reports are confidential — the member is never told who reported them — and you can block them at the same time.

Blocking works both ways: you disappear from each other's date searches, they can no longer see your profile, and neither of you can message or video-call the other. They aren't notified. You can unblock anyone from "Blocked members" in your dashboard.

Sign in and open "My dating profile" from your dashboard. Changes take effect in searches immediately.

Open Profile settings from your dashboard and use "Delete account". Your account and profile are removed permanently.
